Assassin: Roland Watson

Assassin: Roland Watson

Post by Guest on Thu Dec 09, 2010 12:14 pm

- Name:
Honourable-Lord Roland William James Watson

- Age:
Nineteen

- Gender:
Male

- Appearance:

Roland is 6’ tall with a well built upper body, though from looking at him you can tell that his muscles are designed for agility, speed and climbing rather than hand to hand combat. Despite the current British obsession with long hair and wigs, Roland took a sharp dagger to his blonde locks and cut them short to avoid them obscuring his eyesight. His eyes are the darkest shade of brown imaginable, almost black, and a deep scar runs over his left eyebrow and stops just on his left cheek bone – this was from a conflict he had with one of his older brothers. His robes were in keeping with that of his families traditional assassin robes, coloured many shades of deep blue and accented with maroon and gold trim along with a couple of blue sapphires placed within the guild symbols. He wears little to no armour, apart from on his forearms and shins, as when confronted in close combat he simply turns tail and runs with no intention to battle – or revealing his identity.

- Affiliation:
Assassins Guild, the British sector.

- Family:
Lord William Horatio Watson Duke of Lincolnshire (Father), Lady Cécile Watson Duchess of Lincolnshire (Mother), Honourable-Lord Horatio Ashton Reginald Watson (Eldest Brother), Honourable-Lord Jaques Nicholas Watson (Elder Brother) and Honourable-Lady Elizabeth Océane Watson (Elder Sister).

- Favorite Weapon:
Dual hidden blades, of a different design to those used by Ezio as they were designed by an English inventor; poison can be incorporated into the blade in a motion similar to that of a syringe, because of this it is also theoretically possible to take blood from a victim. Roland also uses a crude construct of the chemical Chloroform to sub-due enemies in the hope of gaining information from them, however due to the volatility of the chemical there is a 50/50 chance that he would kill them anyway.

- Relationship:

Although ‘betrothed’ to a French noble family’s youngest daughter, Roland still classifies himself as single.

- Strengths:
Free-running, stealth, puzzle-solving.

- Weaknesses:

Any kind of melee combat, he can’t wield a sword to save his life and he doesn’t know a right hook from a left uppercut. If his assassinations fail he will simply use his strengths (climbing, speed) and run for the most obscure hiding spot imaginable. And despite being fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and English there is always going to be a language barrier, as Roland is still not used to any slang terms used by Italians and so may take a while to reply to some conversations.

- Background:
Fortunately for him his family has been integrated within the English assassins guild since its rise within the early 8th century, his mother is also from a line of French assassins and (although she herself has never dabbled in the profession, as she believes women killing is monstrous) she often helps make minor adjustments to Roland’s equipment. Roland is the youngest of the three of Lord Watson’s sons and so he felt an extra pressure to prove himself to his father, and yet despite his obvious eagerness his weakness within general combat often meant that his older brothers got given assassination jobs. It was only when his father realised that Roland had an increased aptitude for solving difficult puzzles and arithmetic’s did he begin to prepare him for his main mission in life – to infiltrate the Italian/Spanish guilds in the hopes of finding out more information on the pieces of Eden. Roland soon became learned in many languages, science and maths. He began to train his speed and instead focused his efforts on being an information gatherer rather than a raw fighter. His father realised that with this intense training Roland had blossomed and on his 19th birthday agreed to pay for him to have a boat take him to Valencia, disguised as a curious English scholar, so that they could gain more information on the ‘prophet’ – Ezio.

Although the task may seem to have ulterior motives against the Italian movement, the English guilds have no intention on ruining their handy work – as proud Protestants they were also heavily against the Catholic Templar conquest. Roland would help where he could, but Eden was his priority.

Your submission is successful!

May I add that your provided picture is very nice! Did you hand draw it? Your background on your character is also notably good. Never would have imagined a British Assassin... You are acceptable! Wink

Haha yeah, it was just a quick sketch that was really badly coloured, but I know what he looks like in my head (:
Thank you~! Yeah, I know that the Brits have had an organisation which they've used to privately investigate things for absolutely ages, in the olden days it was assassination now I think it's done a little more subtly ;P
